Hi There!

We’re Jeremiah and Holly, the happy husband and wife team of Restoring Roots Homestead.  After the Air Force had us out of state for a few years, we arrived back in the Indianapolis area in September of 2019 and started dreaming about what could happen with this property we now call home.  We’ve encountered more than a few challenges in starting up this homestead (word of advice: don’t try to build a house during a global pandemic), but we’re committed to following our calling: to be good stewards of this beautiful little piece of creation, sharing with others the joy of redemptive work that can be found all around us, even in the soil.

Check out the Blog section for updates on what’s happening here!  (If you want to start at the beginning, go to the post titled “Okay, let’s go…”)

DOGS, DOGS, DOGS!

Yep, we love dogs.  We also love rescuing dogs!  Pictured here are our current pups, Bella, Pepper, and Pickles.  We were also privileged to have a Mastiff-mix (Buddy) and a blue/champagne Staffy (Wookie), before they left this world.  We’re hoping to rescue many more in the coming years!

…and birds…

My hubby, Jeremiah, is a huge bird nerd.  It’s kind of ridiculous.  This pic gives you just a peek into his birding universe, which involves fancy binoculars and scopes, driving ALL OVER to POSSIBLY catch a glimpse of something rare, and then telling me all about it.  Bird gallery coming soon.  Get excited.

…and hiking.

There’s something wonderful about getting out in nature, experiencing the sights and sounds and smells of the earth and its multitude of creatures, with the added benefit of exercise.  This pic was taken at Turkey Run State Park in Marshall, IN and is possibly my favorite hiking spot in the state 🙂
