Construction Progress Part 1

This is waaayyy overdue and I’m REALLY condensing things here…

Our home, starting to take shape!

So it’s been several months since I updated our progress. Being totally honest and transparent here, it’s been a bit of a nightmare. I want to keep things in perspective, remembering that we are incredibly blessed and have so much more than we deserve. That said, our experience with building our “forever home” has been the most difficult challenge Jeremiah and I have faced so far. We don’t need to go into all of the details; in fact, I think my brain sometimes forgets bad stuff fairly easily as a way of unloading burdens. So, again, since I’m writing this well after these stages of our house construction actually occurred, some of the details have drifted from my memory. If you have questions and message me for specifics, I’ll do my best 🙂

For now, I’m just going to share some of the photos we took to capture the early progress of our build. Some periods were incredibly exciting and fun for us, and some were pretty tough and felt like they would never end. It’s a great reminder to put our focus and intentions beyond our immediate circumstances, to things that will matter years from now. Okay… here are some pics to bring you a little more up to date…

So as progress was being made on our house (did you like the pic of the chunky pup hanging out on site?), we spent our time in a variety of ways. See below.

We started working on a perimeter fence. This ended up taking a LONG time to finish. Don’t mind our neighbor’s abandoned house in the background 😉

Above: making sure our pups are always comfy and well-loved. Below: appreciating the gift of tickets to a Colt’s game!

And in case you’ve already forgotten from a previous post, we’re still living with my parents while construction continues, which is hard, BUT my parents are pretty amazing. And dorky. See my mom’s lovely contribution below…

One of my classy nicknames, “Hawee”

That’s it for now. I’ll be back soon with more photos of this wild journey. Thanks for hanging out with us here 🙂

Until next time,

Holly
